Once again the annual celebration of the group's birthday (we are now four years old) took the form of a BBQ, this time hosted by Mark. The event also included the third annual awards ceremony, with the following awards being given out (links open in a new window) - Best Walk - James and Rachel for Fermyn Woods Best Weekend - James T for Cadair Best Social - Mark for the AGM / BBQ !!! Best Photo - Mark for the Bourton bridge photo (as also seen on the front page of the website) The Stretchy String Award - Sian (for slightly underestimating the length of her walk!) Best en-route refreshments - Rachel and James (for providing coffee and cakes in the middle of a field!) Wettest Walk - Bill (for the wettest walk!) The Strongman Award - Sean (for carrying a large rock down from nearly the top of a big hill!) The Best All Round Team Player Award - John (for being the best all round team player!!) The Golden Boot Award - Rich (for climbing up too big mountains at reckless speed, splitting his boot and walking the last three miles with it held together with elastic bands!!) The Golden Boot Award is an actual golden boot - the one worn and split by Rich, which is now gold! This will become an annual award. |
