Day 8 - By John Go home today. Slowish start, bit jaded from wine the night before. Pack - breakfast - bog. Then go up the slap (waterfall) that the girls did on Friday, only to find there had been a rockfall that had wiped out the path. Got to the waterfall, had our pick taken under it, then back down to pick up the van back to the airport. The Great Escape Sam dropped us off at the petrol station by the Slovenia / Italy border where we had a look round the shop then a coffee in the café (beer in Andy's case) to get rid of the last Sit coins. Waitress didn't like a handful of coppers! Then a dash to the gap in the wire to sneak into Italy - well not really, we just wandered over the border showing passports at the Italy end, where Sam picked us up as he had been round to the other border crossing so he would not get stopped like on the way in. Checked in at the airport, had a sandwich and through security to the vast (not really) duty free, except we had forgotten that we could not buy anything duty free as we are in the EU! We started playing blackjack, and the animal game, and waited for the v. late plane |
