Day 2 - By Sarah Some of us got up earlier than the others ie. John and Vikki. The others slept blissfully. Breakfast was a rare treat - a real holiday affair with cereal, toast, coffee, tea and convivial chat. Next the boys tinkered with the plan for the day which was to be a local walk taking in a fabulous gorge. Meanwhile we girls got ready putting on sun cream and sunglasses. Then we set off on a beautiful walk which started in the village taking in the interesting architecture of the rather rich Slovenian houses before heading upwards into the mountains. The best part was a fabulous walk through gorges where the views of crystal clear turquoise water, deep ravines and waterfalls were good - no not good ..stunning! Later that day we did another walk which ended at a deep lake. Mark & Andy decided to be real men and go swimming, even though we had been told it was glacier water, ie. freezing cold! Undeterred Andy and Mark stripped off down to their speedos (Andy loved his speedos) and waded into the freezing cold water letting out chilling shrieks as the water hit various parts of their bodies. These were the highlights of today! |
